Hopkinsville Applebee's Closes
After nearly 20 years at the corner of Fort Campbell Boulevard and Sivley Road, a Hopkinsville restaurant is closing. Applebee's General Manager Sharee Murphy confirmed the end of business Thursday, as the final closure for the neighborhood bar and grill.

Trial Dates Set In 2012 Fidelio Road Murder
The two people charged in the 2012 murder of Vincent Goslyn could go to trial next year. Jessie Goslyn and Jarrod Long are accused in connection with the death of Goslyn's husband on an isolated stretch of Fidelio Road in February 2012.

Soldiers Returning To Fort Campbell
Army officials announced Wednesday that approximately 250 soldiers with the 101st Airborne Division Sustainment Brigade/2nd Battalion, 44th Air Defense Artillery Regiment will be returning from 9-month deployments to Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom's Sentinel.

HHS Celebrates State Band Championship
For the first time in school history, a state band competition trophy will reside at Hopkinsville High School. Parents, students, and community members gathered Thursday afternoon to recognize the Class 4A State Champions.

Vandals Strike Project Playground
Hopkinsville Police are asking for the public's help in identifying those involved in vandalism to Project Playground at DeBow Park. Parks and Recreation Superintendent Tab Brockman says the vandalism Tuesday evening resulted in approximately $1,000 worth in damage.

The dry weather conditions are beginning to lead to serious wildfire concerns across the state. In response to numerous wildland fires burning throughout the state, Governor Bevin Thursday declared a statewide emergency.

Marine Finally Coming Home
A World War II Marine, who died in battle over 70 years ago, is finally coming home to be laid to rest. Private First Class Ben Hadden Gore, a native of Hopkinsville, was killed in action in 1943 on an island close to the Philippines.

Ag Edge Participates In Biotech University
College students and six working journalists from around the U.S. got a first-hand look at the Arizona State University Biodesign Institute and an Arizona farm benefiting from biotechnology during Biotech University. News and Farm Director Alan Watts was awarded a scholarship to become one of the working journalists that participated in the Biotech University.
